Happy Thanksgiving everyone! This week, I’m releasing my post a day early in celebration of one of my favorite holidays. Today, we spend the day cooking, baking, talking, eating and laughing with friends and family around the table. Followed, of course, by a mini-coma from eating so much.

I know that there are many times that Thanksgiving can be a stressful environment. From something going wrong with the food to your angry uncle’s political views, there’s always something that can and may go wrong.

However, those are small moments that can happen no matter what and can be fixed. You can make a new “no politics” rule at the table and in a worst case scenario, take out can be ordered. Then you’d look back on this year’s Thanksgiving as “That time Mom almost burned the house down trying to cook the turkey” and you’ll laugh about it for years to come.

Take the Time

While you’re tucking into your second (or third) round of pie, no judgement, take the time to really think about all of the great things going on in your life right now. You might have debt or still be trying to figure out where you want to go because you aren’t a fan of your job right now, but at the end of the day just pause to remember what matters:

  • That you have people to celebrate with today
  • That you can take the time off work to celebrate

An most importantly:

  • Good food
  • Good people
  • Good memories

Happy Thanksgiving All! Let’s all take the time to be thankful today and everyday!
