My coaching strategy is to take a holistic approach to personal finance and budgeting that is based on your values. I teach basic finance, as well as short and long term goal setting and investing. Most personal to me though is educating families navigating the complexities of estate planning and aging loved ones.
My Background
My passion for this topic began when my father was diagnosed with dementia indicative of early onset Alzheimer’s when I was 12 years old. By the time I was out of college and starting to work on my own finances, my parents were struggling with the shift in financial responsibility from my dad to my mom after 20 years of my dad solely running their finances. Witnessing this financial distress first hand and working with my mom and brother over the following 18 years of my fathers’ illness was a difficult experience that looking back could have gone better with some planning. This has sparked a desire to dive deeper into the personal finance space and share what I learned with others to better allow them to take care of the ones they love while building a life they truly enjoy living.
Milennials are quickly becoming the sandwich generation, taking care of both older parents and young children. Through my ebook and resources, I aim to simplify the complex principles of financial, health, and legal planning for younger generations supporting their loved ones while also setting themselves up for success.
Outside the Office
When I’m not coaching, reading or writing, I am normally spending quality time with my amazing wife and our spirited 18 month old kiddo, perhaps planning our next big adventure, heading to the 2027 Women’s World Cup in Brazil. Having only recently added another piece of our family puzzle, we have had to adjust how we handle the finances a bit. So, I plan on keeping everyone up to date on how this is impacting our finances and lives in general.
