Hi All! My name is Emily and I am a 30 year old engineer in the aviation industry and a financial coach after founding Firebird Finance in mid 2019. Taking my clients from being overwhelmed with their finances to a place where they are using their finances to build the life they truly want and deserve if my mission. In my spare time, I read, listen and create content related to personal finance. Working to bring financial literacy to others is a passion of mine and I hope to enable as many as possible to own their financial futures.

My lovely wife as of late 2017 (It’s going great. Thanks for asking,), Kayla is working as a nanny, and currently starting her own side hustle. I’m really excited to see where this goes for her and will keep you all up to date on her greatness.

One of my favorites of the two of us from a free engagement photo shoot taken by a close friend.

Together we are striving to achieve Financial independence (FI) through a combination of 401K, Roth IRAs, HSA, Taxable accounts and rental properties. We’re saving a bit over 50% of our income currently and are planning that I will be able to quit my 9-5 by 40 with the possibility of doing so sooner as I ramp up my financial coaching business.

I’m a firm believer that FI is a completely realistic goal, despite the naysayers and will go through the math to prove it. I started this site to document our journey and show that it is not only a possibility but, that most anyone can do it if they set their mind to it. FI may look different to everyone and take longer for some, but everyone can get there. If owning your financial future and being able to give yourself options later in life is something that interests you, check out my financial coaching services and I can personally help you see that you can reach FI too!

So, come along with us as we figure it out and have a lot of fun along the way. Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoy!
